Sleeping among the vineyards

The farm is located in the estate of the historic Cantina Lantieri (one of the most famous in the area) and is set against the historic center of the medieval village of Capriolo , in one of the most beautiful and unspoiled landscaped places of Franciacorta. Obtained from the careful renovation of the ancient noble palace of the Lantieri de Paratico family, it can be reached along a beautiful road drawn between long rows of vines. From its embattled terrace you can enjoy a magnificent view of the amphitheater of the hills. Each of its 7 rooms is furnished with a unique style, with elegant furniture and attention to detail, and enjoys a splendid panorama.

Tastings in the cellar

A pleasant experience are the visits and tastings in the cellar, where the post-harvest work takes place. Passing from the historical part, where the bottles rest in the dim light under the seventeenth-century faces, to the modern one where the phases of vinification take place according to the most advanced technologies, we discover how the precious Franciacorta are born , produced from grapes harvested manually in the 20 hectares of vineyards ( grown organically) owned by the company, which extend partly around the cellar and partly on the slopes of Monte Alto. Wines that stand out for their freshness and minerality and express the aromas and pulpiness of the fruit in its entirety. To best represent them is Franciacorta Cuvée Brut NV Lantieri , which won the title of World Champion in the Classic Brut Non-Vintage Blend category at The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championship 201 9 (CSWWC), the prestigious competition created by Tom Stevenson, world leader in Champagne and Sparkling wines.

An ancient wine tradition

The Lantieri de Paratico , a noble and ancient family from Brescia, have Franciacorta roots that date back more than a thousand years ago , given that the first certain date that documents them dates back to 930 d. C. The noble suffix "de Paratico" signifies their previous settlement in the Franciacorta town of the same name, on the border with Lake Iseo. Here, the Lantieri built in the eleventh century. a magnificent castle . The story tells that Dante Alighieri was hosted there who, inspired by the landscape, would have written some verses of the Cantica del Purgatorio. In the sixteenth century the family moved to Capriolo where it distinguished itself for the production of wines , which also supplied the courts of Mantua, Ferrara and Milan, where the "Rubino di Corte Franca" was particularly appreciated. The winemaking tradition has been perpetuated over the centuries up to our times and even today the company headquarters is located in Capriolo, next to the ancient family palace.
