During the Gusto Festival of the City of Moncalieri, three days dedicated to the great tradition of street food and high quality beer

Friday 6th from 7pm to midnight, Saturday 7th from 11am to midnight, Sunday 8th from 11am to midnight

The first edition of Street Food & Ottobeer Fest is born, a three-day event created by the Turin Wine Week, the most varied container for the culture of eating and drinking well and with awareness in the territory of Turin and Piedmont, together with the Città del Gusto Torino – Red shrimp .

In the month in which the city of Moncalieri valorises its gastronomic excellences, Street Food & Ottobeer Fest wants to be a small window on the varied world of street food , bringing some of the realities awarded by the guide " Street food 2023. Stories, recipes and places of food of Italian street " of Gambero Rosso , together with local excellences, such as Masters of Taste and quality artisans.

The journey begins in Sicily, with the master Francesco Arena , the most awarded Messina baker ever and the excellence of Il Vecchio Carro, awarded Tre Pani and Due stelle by Gambero Rosso, specialized in the production of porchetta from the Nero dei Nebrodi pig. The pigs are raised on site, in a semi-wild system, and the processing follows traditional artisanal procedures. The Emilian products of BStradi - Bottega Contemporanea carry on the tradition of fresh handmade pasta, selecting the best raw materials from the Piacenza hills. Tellia with Enrico Murdocco , awarded by the Pizzerie Gambero Rosso guide, with the Tre Rotelle, and in 2021 revelation of the year, offers his Roman-style pizza by the slice, with great attention to detail in every step, from the dough to the highly selected toppings up to the differentiated cooking . Pizza is treated like a true haute cuisine dish.

A leap into international cuisine too, with the churros from Churritos Milano , a typical fried dessert from many South American countries such as Venezuela, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Cuba and Brazil, served with hot chocolate and filled with a great variety of flavors . Rafiky 's fusion cuisine combines Piedmontese cuisine with Japanese and Mexican cuisine, including poke bowls, gyoza and super-stuffed piadinas rolled into cones.

We return to the area, with the 0 km products of the eco-sustainable cooperative Ram of Moncalieri and with Egregio which offers menus with their short supply chain and organic products, but also with Mara Dei Boschi awarded three Gambero Rosso Cones, whose ice cream is a perfect mix of technique and study, with a very calibrated sweetness, and which always surprises. And then again the specialties of Ristorante Quadrilatero Romano : Elena D'Ambrogio together with her son Alessandro, bring authentic Roman cuisine to the heart of Turin. The street food proposal is simple, tasty and above all linked to the classics of the Lazio tradition: supplì, meatball skewers, chicken and bacon steak and porchetta sandwich . Finally, La Madda 2.0: a kitchen on wheels, with burgers, sandwiches, fried foods or pizza, traditional menus with first and second courses from Piedmontese cuisine, desserts and a café.

October is also the month that celebrates the love of beer around the world , and Piedmont is certainly one of the cradles of the Italian brewing movement. Over the three days, the public will have 16 taps at their disposal through which to discover many high-quality beers in rotation every day. We start with Filo di lana - brewery laboratory , whose beers are created for those who are thirsty, to satisfy the desire for hops, sweetness or thirst-quenching balance. We will get to know Beela, a hoppy Belgian blonde and Fuori dal Gregge, an Italian grape ale produced from Arneis grapes.

The Double Dog , an IPA with great character, and the Blanche Noise , Wit beer included in the unmissable labels of the Slow Food Guide to Italian Beers 2023, by Edit Brewing . With the San Michele Brewery , surrounded by greenery and embraced by the sources of the mountain Pirchiriano, at the foot of the Sacra di San Michele, we will go to meet the Butterfly , a "kolshglas" with character, and their pale ale: the Carmen.

It follows with BAM , agricultural beer from Moncalieri, in its three versions, La Bela Biunda, a low-fermentation straw-colored blonde lager; the Pastorale, a top-fermented amber pale ale; the Traktor Ipa, a very dark and bitter black IPA. The journey continues with the craft beer with mountain water from Soralama' : the Slurp, pils winner Beer of the Year 2023 by Unionbirrai, and the Wow, a bock that is both drinkable and full-bodied. And then again the Kauss brewery, which produces the raw materials through organic farming, of which we will know the doppelbock, and the helles inspired by the German ones but with a hoppier profile.

Not only craft beers but also great international craft beers, from Pilsner Urquell, a Czech beer, produced since 1842 in the city of Plzeň, in Western Bohemia, to Kozel, from Meantime of London origin and to the Belgian Saint Benoit .

During Street Food & Ottobeer Fest, music is also the protagonist: on Friday with the evening most loved by the Turin people , Avanzi di Balera , organized by the FEA association, on Saturday a non-stop dedicated to the legendary 80s soundtracked by the DJs of Klug, one of the founders of OffTopic in Turin and then again on Sunday dedicated to great folk
