At La Cité du Vin, one of the symbolic places of global wine culture, The Wine Net's bubbles have attracted attention, curiosity, and appreciation from both the museum's professionals and the French public of wine enthusiasts.
On May 21st, at the Bordeaux museum complex, the network that brings together La Guardiense, CVA Canicattì, Cantina Frentana, Cantina Vignaioli del Morellino di Scansano, Colli del Soligo, and Pertinace hosted a day dedicated to discovering Italian sparkling wines from less conventional areas than the most well-known denominations in the national sparkling wine scene.
The program began with a training session for Cité du Vin's sommeliers , who are called upon daily to describe and serve the wines featured in the museum's permanent tasting areas. The reaction of the French professionals was genuinely surprising: the wines presented were striking for their personality, freshness, and expressive originality, demonstrating how even regions less associated with the classic imagery of Italian sparkling wines can produce contemporary, distinctive wines of strong international appeal.
During the day, two tastings were held for members of the Cité du Vin club, an audience of particularly passionate French consumers who are engaged in the museum's cultural and tasting activities. During the meetings, four sparkling wines from the network's cooperatives were presented, accompanied by descriptions of the regions, appellations, and cultural and wine tourism characteristics of the various Italian production areas:
The tastings, led by Emanuela Panke, President of Iter Vitis, and Abele Casagrande, the Network's sales coordinator, confirmed the growing international interest in Italian sparkling wines, even those from less conventional regions that showcase native grape varieties, territorial identities, and diverse production styles.
The collaboration between The Wine Net and the Cité du Vin is part of a broader and more structured multi-year relationship. The network's wines are already part of the rotating selection offered in the museum's panoramic tasting area, where thousands of visitors can sample labels from international partners every day.
The Bordeaux experience confirms the international path of the Italian cooperative network, which in recent years has intensified its joint promotional activities in foreign markets, with a commitment to trade fairs covering the sector's main events, from Wine Paris to Vinitaly, and a coordinated sales effort that, thanks to a combined range of over 100 labels and the representativeness of the territories, is significantly expanding the network's visibility beyond the borders.
