The Wine Fair is underway: Piacenza is ready to welcome wine lovers and professionals

250 producers from 66 Italian provinces and 16 Food Artisans who will liven up the exhibition spaces of Piacenza Expo from 18 to 20 November. Online pre-sales continue #skip the line

The Piacenza Expo Wine Fair kicks off on Saturday 18 November , a market exhibition which until Monday 20 November will see the participation of 250 Italian and foreign wine companies selected in recent months by the members of the scientific committee - Antonello Maietta, Vito Intini, Fosca Tortorelli, Roberto Donadini and Cristina Micheloni – and by the organizational secretariat. The producers will be distributed within the exhibition spaces divided by region so as to create a comfortable and functional visit and tasting route through the different wine areas of the Bel Paese, from north to south. To complete the offer for visitors, six in-depth masterclasses featuring some producers present at the fair with their most representative wines and numerous collateral activities linked to the world of art, culture and crops. Visitors will also be able to make purchases , moving with trolleys between the different stations, and take advantage of the safe shipping and luggage storage services offered by Kipoint , the official partner of the event. In the food area there will be 16 Food Artisans who will offer cured meats, grilled meats and Apulian bombette, goat's cheeses, Altamura and Ligurian specialties, including fried foods and potato pie, up to pizzas, desserts and Piacenza delicacies but also chocolate , desserts, artisanal panettone and much more. In the pavilion dedicated to them they will prepare dishes to be enjoyed on site and will offer typical products to purchase and take home, also as gift ideas in view of the Christmas holidays. Meanwhile, the city of Piacenza is preparing to welcome the wine lovers and professionals who will arrive for the Wine Fair with a rich program of widespread events. Wine in the future will be held on Friday 17 November at 5pm in the Monumental Hall of Palazzo Gotico. Dialogue on the sustainability of the sector , workshop organized by the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. Following this , Oscar Farinetti will present the book 10 moves to face the future. A new way through pleasure and beauty . The event is free with reservations on Eventbrite, searching for Piacenza Wine Days or directly in the room until all available seats are available. In the same hall at 8.00 pm a tasting of wines and typical Piacenza products entitled Tre chalici... waiting for the Wine Fair will begin . The proceeds of the evening , with free donation fundraising, will be donated to the Italian Red Cross - Piacenza Committee - Social Area. The wines will be supplied by the Colli Piacentini DOC Wine Consortium, the cured meats by the Piacentini DOP Salumi Consortium and the bread by the Piacenza and Province Bakers' Association. The conference and tasting event entitled Sustainability in the glass: rediscovering the native vines of the Italian and Piacenza wine-growing territories will be held on Saturday 18 November at 5.30 pm in Room 7 - Antechamber of the Throne of the Civic Museums of Palazzo Farnese. The tasting will be organized by the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and by Vinrà, a portal dedicated to sustainable wineries and wines that care about the territory, the environment and the future. Finally, on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 November , at 7.00 pm and 8.30 pm, at the Kronos - Cathedral Museum there will be The vineyard in art: an iconographic journey , guided tour of the museum complex and climb to the dome of the Cathedral frescoed by Guercino, with tasting of local wines, organized by Cooltour Turismo&Cultura. The cost of the daily ticket is 25 euros, but it is also possible to opt for cumulative ticket solutions, at the price of 40 euros for access to two days of the event and 55 euros for the entire duration of the fair.
