"An excellent start," said Mayor Giulia De Santis, confirming her appreciation and interest in one of Italy's oldest events, which is tangibly rewarding the work of the entire Administration.
Special thanks go to Councilor Mancini, who oversaw the entire process step by step in the months leading up to the event, ensuring no detail was overlooked.
The large turnout recorded these days in the three squares of the historic center hosting the various events is the result of constant and rigorous work.
The differentiation of the offerings in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, Piazza del Plebiscito, and Piazzale Frigo was also a winning choice, the mayor continues, along with the food and wine offerings in two locations where you can taste all the wines from the thirteen participating wineries.
There are still many events on the program, starting with the most characteristic ones linked to the ancient village's food and wine and cultural traditions. Among these, one of the most eagerly awaited is undoubtedly the flag-throwing show, scheduled for August 6th, which this year will be held in Piazzale Roma. The same goes for the Avis race on August 7th, followed by a concert by Vincenzo Bencini, and the Palio delle Botti.
Another very heartfelt event is the historical procession, which symbolizes the heart of the Wine Fair, scheduled for Sunday 10 August at 10 am and 9.30 pm, with the re-enactment of the death of Defuk and the participation of the historical procession of Loreo.
The event is sponsored by the Lazio Region, the Province of Viterbo, and the Municipality of Montefiascone, in particular by Mayor Giulia De Santis and Tourism Councilor Carla Mancini. It is organized in collaboration with ANCIT, Vecchia Scuola, Proloco, Genius Music & Events, and Carramusa Group, with the involvement of local institutions, partners, and cultural organizations.
