TALOSA AT VINITALY 2026: A NEW VERTICAL SHOW TELLS THE SOUL OF PIEVE LE GRAZIE

  • 27/03/2026

Five "archival" vintages tell the stylistic evolution of Talosa Nobile di Montepulciano.

Fattoria della Talosa has been owned by the Jacorossi family since 1972, among the first wineries in Montepulciano to confidently embrace the pursuit of quality that has brought Vino Nobile to the pinnacle of Tuscan winemaking. Its 33 hectares of vineyards extend across the Pietrose area, among the most prestigious crus in Montepulciano, while the historic cellar is rooted in the sixteenth-century cellars of Palazzo Tarugi and Palazzo Sinatti , in the heart of the historic center, where time seems to have stood still since the Renaissance. It is from this layering of history, territory, and vision that the Pievi del Nobile project was born, and with it, Pieve Le Grazie .

Talosa chooses to tell its story through the evolutionary journey of one of its iconic products on a unique occasion: the vertical tasting of the archetypal vintages of Pieve Le Grazie, from 2016 to 2020. Five harvests archived for history, five seasons that have shaped the identity of this label, defining its elegance and building the path that led to 95 Vinous points.

The wine comes from the Chiusino vineyard, in the Pietrose area, 385 meters above sea level. Pieve Le Grazie is one of the twelve historic microzones of the Pievi del Nobile project: a territory of Pliocene origin, with medium-textured clay-sandy soils facing southwest, where the Sangiovese, here called Prugnolo Gentile , expresses a unique terroir between the Renaissance cellars of Montepulciano and the hills of Pietrose. The vineyard is trained using spurred cordon, with a limited yield of 40 quintals per hectare; the harvest is manual, conducted in the first half of October with careful selection in the field.

In the cellar, after destemming and light pressing, fermentation takes place in stainless steel with selected yeasts for approximately 12 days, followed by a 10-day maceration with pumping over and délestage. Malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel, then the wine ages for two years in second- and third-use French oak tonneaux, and then in bottle for at least 12 months.

Talosa's vertical tasting at Vinitaly highlights the evolutionary journey of a wine before it became itself, a journey through the genesis of a label that perfectly represents Nobile di Montepulciano, with an aging potential of over 15 years. The event is scheduled for Monday, April 13th at 11:30 a.m. at Vinitaly, a unique and exclusive opportunity, by reservation only.
