The Consorzio Vini del Trentino will be present at the next Prowein, which will be held in Düsseldorf from 19 to 21 March 2023, with a stand ( Halle 15/E51 ) which will feature a wide selection of the best wines from Trentino denominations.
The area dedicated to Trentino will also host the Consortium with 12 companies.
The Consorzio Vini del Trentino returns to the German fair, which has become an essential appointment for the international promotion of wine products, consolidating its collaboration with Trentino Marketing , the public company for the territorial promotion of Trentino, which coordinates the highly prestigious and visually striking exhibition stands that host companies and return a coordinated image of the territory. In addition to the presence coordinated by the Consortium, it should also be remembered that other big players in the Trentino area present themselves independently or with the reference importer, consecrating what according to the experts has become one of the most important appointments for international operators .
Graziano Molon, director of the Consorzio Vini del Trentino , recalls that "the German market represents the second export market for Trentino after the United States and before Great Britain, but international operators from every foreign market meet at ProWein. For this reason it is even more important to be present and above all to organize an agenda full of appointments from the previous months". In addition to monitoring the market, for the Consorzio Vini del Trentino the main driver of communication remains sustainability , sanctioned with the creation of the first sustainability report, an absolute national first for a protection consortium.
The 2022 Vintage
From the point of view of the quantity of grapes harvested, the 2022 harvest represents for Trentino a year with a production higher than the average of the last decade (8%). The harvest of the companies that belong to the Consorzio Vini del Trentino has in fact reached the figure of 1,240,115 quintals of grapes in the recently concluded harvest, with an increase of 13% compared to the 2021 vintage (a rather poor vintage).
White grapes with 954,038 quintals represent 76.9% of Trentino production, while black grapes with 286,077 quintals constitute the remaining 23.1%.
From these values it can be seen that 70% of the total production of Trentino grapes is made up of three white varieties: Pinot Grigio (35.5%), Chardonnay (25.4%) and Müller Thurgau (8.7%). The main black berried varieties were instead in order: Teroldego (7.1%), Merlot (5.3%), Pinot Noir (2.4%), Marzemino (2.4%) and Lagrein (2. 3%). The grapes of the so-called "resistant" vine varieties (Solaris, Johanniter, etc.) amount to over 3500 quintals, an increase compared to previous years.
