The Piacenza Wine Fair is preparing for its 2026 edition with several new features. Nine guided tastings featuring a new format will enliven the three-day event, nine independent Champagne winemakers will be guests at the Fair for the first time, and a week of events outside the pavilions will warm the spirits of wine lovers. Piacenza Food & Wine Week will precede the event with initiatives spread throughout the city and province, culminating in the Piacenza Expo market, taking place from November 14th to 16th.
A new format, Shall we uncork something? Diversamente Masterclass , will offer tastings of four wines or four gins , described in direct language , ideal even for those approaching wine or spirits without specialist training, in just 45 minutes. On Saturday, November 14th at 12:00 pm, we will begin with Nature, without filters , in the company of Luigi Fenoglio, director of Tenuta di Forci (Lucca). At 2:00 pm, wine educator and consultant Giuliano Boni will lead Champagne Enfant Terrible: 4 territories, 4 souls, 100% independent ; at 4:00 pm, Antonello Maietta, former president of AIS, will lead Grandi rossi, senza mincemeasures , while at 6:00 pm, Enrico Fermi, provincial delegate of FISAR, will propose Sweet, but with character . On Sunday, November 15th , at 12:00 pm, we continue with Che Malvasia! , presented by journalist Giorgio Lambri and Collettivo Innesti, young artisanal winemakers from the Piacenza Hills united to promote Malvasia Aromatica di Candia. At 2:00 PM , Bianchi che raccontano cose (Bianchi che raccontano cose) , again with Antonello Maietta, will be the guest speaker. At 4:00 pm, Giovanni Derba, AIS provincial delegate, and Roberto Belli, director of the Piacenza DOP Salumi Consortium, will host Al banco dell'oste , a meeting of local DOP wines and cured meats. On Monday, November 16, at 11:00 am, Pier Cesare Licini, Master Distiller of the ChezMoonshine farm and educational distillery in Rivergaro (Piacenza), will present Inside Gin , a discovery of botanicals, distillation, and styles, and at 2:00 pm, A naso, è Gin . to recognize a quality artisanal gin. Tickets for the wine and Champagne masterclasses will be available for purchase online starting October 14th and on-site : €15 for the wine sessions and €25 for the Champagne session, in addition to the entrance fee. The gin masterclasses will be free to attend, subject to availability. Each session has 20 places, of which 5 are reserved for journalists.
Among the new features of the 2026 edition, the Fédération des Vignerons Indépendants de Champagne will participate in the Wine Fair for the first time , with a delegation of nine producers : Champagne Sébastien Bression, Champagne Maurice Gonel, Champagne Renoir Bourdelois, and Champagne Xavier Loriot (Vallée de la Marne); Champagne Xavier Alexandre (Vallée de l'Ardre); Champagne Olivier Rousseaux and Champagne Vignon Père et Fils (Montagne de Reims); Champagne Daniel Pétré and Champagne Philippe Fontaine (Côte des Bars). The four areas of the appellation will also be represented in the tasting Champagne Enfant Terrible: 4 Territories, 4 Souls, 100% Independent , scheduled for Saturday, November 14.
The dialogue with the local area will be introduced even before the pavilions open with Piacenza Food & Wine Week . On Wednesday, November 4th , from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, the exhibition of the 2026 Fiera dei Vini National Photography Competition will be inaugurated at the Passerini-Landi Library. On Friday, November 13th, at 6:00 PM, at the Sant'Ilario Auditorium, the Viticultura book club will present "Georges Cogny. Story of a Chef ," with author Martina Picca and a tasting of local wines. That same evening, at 8:30 pm at the Osteria del Morino in Caorso (Piacenza), Malvasia Piacentina meets the great Langhe will be held: a four-course dinner featuring wines from the Ada Nada (Treiso, Cuneo) and Labrè (Vigolzone, Piacenza) wineries, in the presence of the producers, with the collaboration of the volunteer organization Promis Gruparel , active in promoting the Piacenza area and the local community.
