Natural Critical Wine 2015

The fourth edition of Natural Critical Wine, will be hosted by the Città dell’Altra Economia of Rome, on Saturday, 28th February and Sunday, 1st March 2015.

The exclusive event starring great wines, unique like vintages, territories and winemakers who produce them, is renewed. It is important to note the participation of new wineries: Stekar of Slovenia, Fenech of the Salina Island and Monte di Grazia, of the Amalfi Coast with vineyards of over two hundred years!

Natural, true, sincere, organic, biodynamic, passionate, authentic, simple, rich, human. These are the ten adjectives that the fair organizers love to use to define the wine that is tasted at Natural Critical Wine.

A journey into the world of the quality of the natural wine and the pleasure of the rediscovery of ancient traditions, flavors and forgotten aromas, through two days dedicated to free tastings, guided degustations and lectures.

An opportunity for socializing in a celebration that also stimulates reflection on food culture and on consumption of our days, parameters characterizing the quality of life and the local economy.

The event aims to encourage a critical and conscious approach, based on the affirmation of the right to individuality and uniqueness of taste – in contrast to the current market logic that induces a progressive homogenization – and to the wholesomeness of the product, enhancing short chain productions, based on natural, artisanal and sustainable techniques.

Emilio Falcione, one of the promoters of the event, states: «Over thirty years ago Luigi Veronelli declared that the worst farm wine is better than the best industrial wine. Today, to produce a conventional wine you can use in the winery more than 300 different products (or food additives, legal, usable in the winery to "correct" the wine, or better to build it). This wine is no longer the fruit of the land, but an industrial product, a commodity that has lost its value as food for humans. Paraphrasing Pasolini, the civilization of a people is measured with the survival of an environment in which fireflies and butterflies live.

We want to bring fireflies and butterflies in the countryside and peasants and their wines in the city! In our Fairs, self–organized, we apply the source prices and direct sales in the presence of the producers. We self–certificate production methods, and labor relations. In our wines in addition to grapes there are very low amounts of sulphur dioxide and nothing else!»

Over fifty are the producers who will bring the richness of diversity, presenting to the public the products from many Italian regions, the result of passion, of organic and/or biodynamic farming, of natural yeasts and spontaneous fermentation.

Saturday, 28th February from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. – presentation, tasting and sale of products

Sunday, 1st March, from 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. – tasting and sale of products
