A system that works. Gourmet dinners, Barbera talks, tastings: the Douja del Monferrato is full of the public. And there is great anticipation for the latest appointments

La Douja del Monferrato is still growing in numbers and among round tables, tastings and winning collaborations suggests a new vision of the territory made of synergies .

« The public is rewarding the Douja del Monferrato. This is because we have shown that we know how to react to the many difficulties still linked to the health emergency with a rich and well-orchestrated program - says Filippo Mobrici , President of the Barbera d'Asti and Vini del Monferrato Consortium - The balance is absolutely positive, even our visitors to all ages are curious and interested in wine, a sign of growing attention towards our territory and our appellations ».

Sold out again at the gourmet dinners curated by DoctorChef Federico Francesco Ferrero and by the Pro loco di Monferrato on Stage, but also great public response for the Collisioni events in Asti, which brought the unmistakable stamp of the Africa Unite to Asti this year. at the forty-year anniversary of his career, and Paolo Crepet with his book Beyond the Tempest . The evening with Luca Colombo was also very good, accompanied by Lorenzo Poli and Valentina Tesio ; and the one with Pier Giuseppe Ortalda , linked to stories and anecdotes about the legendary motorcycle competition of the Isle of Man. journalist Paolo Massobrio and Professor Giorgio Calabrese , who together with the President of the Consortium Filippo Mobrici reasoned about the wine world in all its forms; in the second case with a round table in collaboration with the Paleontological Museum of Asti , for a reflection which, starting from the geological roots of Monferrato, explored topics related to the environment and the future of the territory.

Now everything is ready for the last weekend. The scheduled appointments with the Barbera talks are added to tastings and gourmet dinners: Friday 1 October is the turn of the Lombard singer-songwriter Davide Van de Sfroos , who will present the album Maader Folk ; Saturday 2 October at 6.30 pm it is the turn of the journalist Andrea Scanzi with a meeting entitled How has journalism changed during the pandemic? , on stage with the journalist Guido Tiberga ; at 9.30 pm meeting with the Piedmontese entrepreneur Oscar Farinetti , who will talk with the journalist Beppe Gandolfo starting from his latest book Never Quiet . At 10.30 pm space for the presentation of the Aima_L project signed by Linda Messerklinger and Vicio dei Subsonica.

With over 66 million bottles and more than 11 thousand hectares of vines, equal to about 30% of the DOC and DOCG area of Piedmont, the Consortium protects 13 denominations, 4 Docg (Barbera d'Asti, Nizza, Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato and Terre Alfieri) and 9 Doc (Albugnano, Cortese dell'Alto Monferrato, Dolcetto d'Asti, Freisa d'Asti, Grignolino d'Asti, Loazzolo, Malvasia di Castelnuovo Don Bosco, Monferrato and Piedmont).

  • Tastings of great white and red wines from Monferrato, selected from over 200 labels - in combination with typical Piedmontese tradition by Coldiretti Asti ( Albese di veal Fassone, Piedmontese appetizer, anchovies in greenery, spicy toma with wildflower honey, bread with yeast mother, hazelnut tongues ); or ( bagna cauda with mixed vegetables, raw slice of Fassone veal, fresh egg, bread with mother yeast, hazelnut tongues ).

  • 8.00 pm - Bistrot del Monferrato , by DoctorChef Federico Ferrero (by reservation, maximum 40 seats, 40 euros) and by the Pro loco di Monferrato on Stage (Mos alla Douja evening with the Pro loco di Castagnole Monferrato, together with that of Montechiaro and to the Association of Aramengo Actively ).

During the Douja d'Or days, the Territorial Paleontological Museum of Asti, which is located in the Palazzo del Michelerio, will observe the following extraordinary openings: Friday and Saturday from 20.00 to 23.00; Sunday from 20.00 to 22.30.
