The meeting will be an opportunity to present some new initiatives to promote the area, part of the Consortium's development program.
In particular, the Asolo Montello Guide – Visitor Guide will be presented, a new tool available to wine tourists, companies and all operators in the area,
designed to make the many beauties of the Asolo and Montello hills known to the world.
We're taking this opportunity to share the press release detailing the activities promoted by the Consortium throughout the fair.
A blend of beauty, culture, and nature. This is the Asolo Montello region, home to Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG, Montello DOCG, and Montello Asolo DOC. This identity will be at the heart of the Consortium's presence at the upcoming Vinitaly, taking place in Verona from April 12th to 15th.
The key moment at the fair will be the presentation "Destination Beauty: Asolo Montello between taste, art and nature" on Tuesday the 14th at 1:00 pm at the institutional stand (Hall 8 / F7), where the Consortium will illustrate its promotion strategy and new projects, first and foremost the Asolo Montello – Visitor Guide, a practical manual for Italian and foreign tourists visiting the area. Speakers at the meeting will include Michele Noal , President of the Consorzio Tutela Vini Asolo Montello, Roberto Dalla Riva , curator of the Guide, Othmar Kiem , CEO of Falstaff Italia and Susanne Wess , founder of Wine2Stay.
During the days at the fair there will be many guided tastings, dedicated to local wines:
Throughout the fair, from Sunday the 12th to Tuesday the 14th, starting at 12:00 , you can sample wines from 43 wineries at the tasting stand. Discover the flavors of the area thanks to the collaboration with the Consorzio Formaggio Piave and local restaurateurs . The gastronomic offerings will be curated on Sunday, April 12th by Ristorante da Gerry in Monfumo, on Monday, April 13th by Osteria Ristorante Jodo in Maser, and on Tuesday the 13th by Ristorante 1922 in Ciano del Montello.
Vinitaly will be an opportunity to get closer to Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG, the smallest denomination of Prosecco, but also to get to know the great reds of Montello DOCG, one of the first areas in Italy where grapes of Bordeaux origin were experimented with, and the Montello Asolo DOC wines, first of all the native Recantina.
It will also be a way to explore an area rich in attractions. Among these, next to the wineries, are the Villa di Maser, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the Bosco del Montello nature reserve; the Abbey of Sant'Eustachio, where Il Galateo was written; and the Gypsotheca of Antonio Canova, who was born and worked here. Canova was one of the greatest sculptors of all time, and his works began with clay sketches—the same clay that the Asolo Montello vines are rooted in.
