Consorzio Vini del Trentino present at ProWein 2024: previews and news

The event which will be held at the Düsseldorf Congress Center from Sunday 10th to Tuesday 12th March 2024, represents an unmissable opportunity for the member companies, with the aim of showing the variety and excellence of Trentino wines to the international operators present.

The 12 member companies that will participate in the event are: Cantina Roeno, Distilleria Villa de Varda, Cantina Isera, Cantina Toblino, Madonna delle Vittorie, Distilleria Marzadro, Cantine Endrizzi, Cantina LaVis, Cantine Monfort, Corvèe, Cantina Aldeno, Az. Agr. Pisoni brothers.

Each company will manage the shared space offering tastings and meetings to present their wine innovations and excellences. Corporate coordination will be handled by the Trentino Wine Consortium in collaboration with the Autonomous Province of Trento and Trentino Marketing which will take care of setting up the stand.

The event will also see the participation of the Istituto Tutela Grappa Del Trentino , with the President Alessandro Marzadro and the consortium distilleries. To welcome guests and visitors, a dedicated area will be set up with coffee and strudel.

The presence of the Trentino Wine Consortium at the important Düsseldorf fair is also linked to the scope and importance represented by the German market , it is in fact the third export market (after the USA and UK) for Trentino wines with a volume of 136,047 hectoliters and a value of 38.6 million euros (Istat 2022 data). The United States (volume 581,691 hectoliters, value €188.6 million) holds the record for Trentino exports, followed by the United Kingdom (volume 220,845 hectoliters, value €55.2 million).

The export data of Trentino wines highlight a strong propensity for international trade , shipments currently involve 98 countries globally. In 2022, wine exports from the province of Trento constitute a share of 5.9% in volume and 5.2% in value compared to total Italian wine exports.

Sparkling wine exports cover a significant share, 24% in volume and 30% in value compared to the total Trentino wine exports.

Graziano Molon, General Director of the Trentino Wine Consortium, highlighted the value of the German event and the prospects for the near future: "ProWein is currently an unmissable event for our members - present both in our institutional stand, created in collaboration with Trentino Marketing and the Autonomous Province of Trento, which in partnership with the respective importers - for a fair that is characterized by the high rate of internationality and presence of operators. Our presence has now been consolidated over many years.

For the future, however, we will have to make some reflections on what is happening at Wine & Vinexpo Paris which is increasingly confirming itself as a true direct competitor of ProWein and is enjoying growing appreciation from operators. We will evaluate, as always in consultation with our producers, what will be appropriate to do in 2025"
