Sicilian wine returns to Verona from April 12th to 15th at Vinitaly 2026, one of the most important international events for the wine sector. This year, Assovini Sicilia will once again be present with a group of companies in Pavilion 2, entirely dedicated to Sicily, and with its own stand (D40), confirming its commitment to promoting the quality and identity of Sicilian wine on national and international markets. This participation is part of the PSR Sicilia 2023-2027 – Intervention SRG10 “Promotion of Quality Products,” promoted by the Sicilian Regional Department of Agriculture, and will involve over 40 wineries, representing the richness and biodiversity of the region. This broad and representative group brings together historic businesses and emerging wineries, united by a contemporary vision of Sicilian wine, increasingly oriented towards sustainability, research, and the valorization of native grape varieties. "Vinitaly is always an important opportunity for discussion and storytelling. Today, Sicilian wine speaks of an island that is changing and growing. At the fair, we want to convey this energy and provide an authentic image of who we are: companies that are often diverse, but united by a strong bond with the territory and a shared vision of quality,” says Mariangela Cambria, president of Assovini Sicilia . Among the scheduled events, on Monday, April 13th at 12:30 pm, in the conference room of the Sicily Pavilion, there will be a conference entitled “Journey to Sicily: the new frontiers of wine tourism,” dedicated to the evolution of wine tourism and its cultural, economic, and narrative impact. The conference will feature Filippo Magnani, Giulio Perrone, Federica Fina, Francesca Planeta, Federico Geremei, and Filippo Galanti, who will offer different perspectives—from travel to the world of publishing, from wine tourism to communications—to explain how the wine tourism experience is changing and how it is experienced and narrated. During the fair, Assovini Sicilia will offer a series of masterclasses led by journalist Francesco Pensovecchio, designed to take industry professionals and the press on a journey through the diverse facets of Sicilian winemaking: from the sparkling wines described in "Bollicine fuori rotta. La Sicilia con e senza Metodo" (Bollicine Off Course. Sicily with and without Method) to the contemporary whites at the center of "Luce liquida: i bianchi siciliani" (Liquid Light: Sicilian Whites); from the reds, the protagonists of "Form and Style. The Dress of Sicilian Reds, Between Energy and Elan" (Form and Style. The Dress of Sicilian Reds, Between Energy and Elan) to the sweet wines explored in "L'Isola del Tempo: I vini dolci di Sicilia" (The Island of Time: Sicilian Sweet Wines). For Assovini Sicilia, participating in Vinitaly represents a key opportunity to meet with buyers, industry professionals, and stakeholders, but also an opportunity to strengthen dialogue with international markets and continue the narrative of an evolving, dynamic, and increasingly recognizable Sicilian wine region for its identity and quality.
