Trasimeno Rosé Festival: the Consorzio Tutela Vini Trasimeno among the protagonists of the Tulip Festival

From Friday 21 April to Monday 1 May 2023 , Castiglione del Lago (Perugia) will smell of native flowers and wines thanks to the traditional Tulip Festival . The Consorzio Tutela Vini Doc Colli Del Trasimeno and its producers will in fact be among the protagonists of the event with the Trasimeno Rosé Festival , a real event within the event, to promote the autochthonous Trasimeno Gamay grapes and the various facets of the Trasimeno rosés. The Taverna del Tulipano – an area set up under the Rocca del Leone, where you can taste traditional Umbrian dishes – will prepare a wine list designed to highlight the rosés that are born around the lake. Still inside the Tavern, on days enlivened by the parade of allegorical floats completely covered in tulips – scheduled for 23rd , 25th and at night on 30th April – all diners will be offered a glass of rosé wine. The same initiative will be proposed on April 24 and May 1 during the picnics organized along the pedestrian path that runs alongside the Rocca del Leone, with the participation of the Consortium's cellars and their wines. For the entire duration of the Tulip Festival, the Rosé Terrace will be set up, with a panoramic view of the lake, where you can meet and toast with local labels. "We are delighted with the synergy created between the Trasimeno Rosé Festival and the Tulip Festival , the most important spring festival in Umbria - declares Emanuele Bizzi , president of the Consorzio Tutela Vini Doc Colli Del Trasimeno - Thanks to the commitment of producers, catering and commercial we want to underline the quality and tradition of our rosé wines which, with their nuances, recall the beautiful colors of the sunset on the Trasimeno”. The complete program of the event was illustrated during the presentation press conference held in Rome on Wednesday 19 April at the headquarters of ENIT - the National Tourism Agency of Rome , active in the promotion of tourist activities in Italy, together with the association I Borghi più Belli of Italy . The latter supports and enhances the small Italian towns that decide to join it with a qualification of marked historical and artistic interest. Four villages twinned and present at the event with their own costumed delegations and allegorical floats: Gradara (Marche), Poppi (Tuscany), Castel San Pietro Romano (Lazio) and Pacentro (Abruzzo). The initiative is also made possible thanks to the support of the Umbria Region since it is part of the plan for the enhancement of quality regional wines, in collaboration with Umbria Top Wines (PSR Umbria 2014-2022 meas. 3.2.1 - 2023). The GAL Trasimeno-Orvietano, the Associazione Eventi Castiglione, the Union of Municipalities of Trasimeno and Confcommercio Trasimeno participate in the organization of the event.
