SPRING OF UNMISSABLE EVENTS WITH THE BARBERA D'ASTI E VINI DEL MONFERRATO CONSORTIUM

the Barbera D'Asti and Vini del Monferrato Consortium is pleased to share with you the upcoming events regarding the Noi di Costigliole d'Asti and Astesana Association.

With the arrival of the summer, the series of events promoted by the Barbera d'Asti and Vini del Monferrato Consortium returns, aimed at telling an audience of operators and enthusiasts about the thousand nuances and peculiarities of the wines of the thirteen protected denominations. “We strongly believe in collaboration with the many realities that animate Monferrato – says Vitaliano Maccario, President of the Barbera d'Asti and Vini del Monferrato Consortiumand with whom we create increasingly intense synergies to maximally amplify the story and knowledge of the quality of our wines but also of the excellent products and typical features of our territory" . The very first event scheduled for the month of March is Barberando , a food and wine event organized by the municipality of Costigliole d'Asti in collaboration with the "Noi di Costigliole" Producers Association which will take place in restaurants and with Costigliole d'Asti wines. Sundays 10, 17 and 24 March . Eight local restaurants will offer menus specially created for the occasion, in which the dishes will be paired with wines from the nineteen participating wineries and two distilleries. The wine and grappa tastings - at least 6 different Barberas will be tasted - will be "blind", an engaging experience that will allow you to understand the versatility of Costigliole d'Asti Barberas in all their nuances. At the end of the lunch, Barbera vine grappas from local distilleries will be offered (for info: www.rossobarbera.it). There is also great anticipation for the second event scheduled for Wednesday 20 March from 3.30pm to 5.30pm at the BAart cultural space in Agliano Terme where the first training seminar of this year will take place for food and wine operators as part of an exhibition of meetings promoted in collaboration between the Barbera d'Asti and Vini del Monferrato Consortium and Astesana – wine and food route. “The philosophy that inspires these seminars – says Stefano Chiarlo , President of the Astesana Strada del Vino e del Cibo Association – is to contribute to raising and refining the skills of those who work in the hospitality and catering sector in relation to the knowledge of typical products, including agricultural ones, of the territory paired with wines representing the denominations protected by the Barbera d'Asti and Vini del Monferrato Consortium. In fact, it is fundamental for these operators to know how to interact in a professional manner with an increasingly informed and demanding public, both at a national and international level. Our objective is therefore to promote training sessions aimed at enriching their knowledge on food pairings to allow them to accurately transmit information to an attentive public. The theme of our first seminar focuses on the pairing of Gorgonzola DOP and Monferrato wines, exemplifying the commitment to excellence in the dissemination and knowledge of our flagship products.” The focus of the seminar on Wednesday 20 March will in fact be "Gorgonzola Dop meets Barbera d'Asti and the DOCG wines of Monferrato" . During the meeting we will both delve into the history, characteristics and use of this extraordinary product in the food and wine supply chain and in catering, and will analyze trends and opportunities in wine tourism in order to offer active support to operators in the sector. There will be no shortage of tasting moments: in fact, a sweet and a spicy Gorgonzola Dop will be tasted paired with Barbera d'Asti Docg at Nizza Docg 2020. To understand the versatility in the kitchen of what can rightly be defined as the King of blue cheeses produced in Italy, a presentation and tasting of two dishes based on Gorgonzola Dop will take place by the chefs of the professional training agency Colline Astigiane - Hotel School of Agliano Terme and Asti paired with Barbera d'Asti Superiore docg 2021 and Nizza Riserva Docg 2016 (for info and reservations write to info@baart.it).
