On the occasion of the Spring Festival , organized by the Strada del Vino on March 8 and 9, 2025 , Villa Franciacorta will open the doors of its historic cellar and offer a unique food and wine experience, in which Franciacorta Millesimati will meet the authentic flavors of Sicilian tradition.
During the Festival, in fact, the local chefs will take up the challenge of reinterpreting the Sicilian Red Orange PGI , a symbol of Mediterranean agriculture, by offering off-menu dishes that will be available in their restaurants for the entire week until March 9. Among the proposals, that of the chef Andrea Marenzi of the restaurant Éla Osteria in Villa , located in the sixteenth-century village of Villa Franciacorta. “Salmerino al profumo di Arancia Rossa di Sicilia PGI” (Salmi with the scent of Sicilian Red Orange PGI ) will be the dish based on cold-smoked char from the Chiese river, placed on crispy rye bread, accompanied by a delicate teriyaki sauce, all enhanced by the freshness of the fennel and the aromatic intensity of the Sicilian Red Orange PGI.
The Spring Festival comes at a significant time for the Denomination : thirty-five years ago the Franciacorta Consortium was founded, marking a turning point in the Italian winemaking panorama. Among the Founders was Alessandro Bianchi , patron of Villa Franciacorta. Today, in homage to this legacy and to celebrate the thirty-fifth birthday of the Consortium, Villa Franciacorta will offer the opportunity to spend a weekend discovering its Franciacorta Millesimati.
The company will offer guided tours of the cellar with tastings of two Franciacorta Millesimati and a still red Sebino IGT, produced in this place since 1500. The initiative of Villa Franciacorta, in the valorization of the Italian food and wine heritage , also through the promotion of a conscious tourism able to tell the territory, is part of the action of this company, capable of valorizing a unique terroir and to live every time experiences of great value.
