There Festa del Bacalà alla Vicentina , the historic culinary event organized every year by the Pro Loco of Sandrigo , becomes one of the most popular tourist destinations for Norwegian travellers. The close bond between Sandrigo and Norway is strengthened thanks to the Scandinavian travel agency Boreal , which in its Veneto itinerary will touch not only Padua, Venice and Bassano del Grappa but also the municipality of Sandrigo to retrace the stages dedicated to the history of Pietro Querini and taste the famous Vicenza-style bacalà . The festival, now in its 37th edition, will take place from 19 to 30 September 2024 , transforming the squares of Sandrigo and the park behind the Duomo into a lively theater of flavours, workshops, exhibitions, markets and shows.

To introduce the official start of the Festival, two unmissable events will prepare visitors' palates. Bacco & Bacalà will be held on Saturday 14 September at Villa Mascotto in Ancignano, the tasting that celebrates the art of pairing cod-based dishes with wine, with over 120 labels for tasting. The tasting counter will also present combinations of craft beers, gin and tonics and Select-based cocktails. Tuesday 17 September to be scheduled on the agenda Gran Galà del Bacalà : a unique opportunity to savor gastronomic delicacies in a refined and refined atmosphere, with participation by reservation only.

The party will officially begin Thursday 19th with the opening of the food stands that will delight visitors with traditional and innovative dishes based on Lofoten PGI stockfish. From classic specialties such as gnocchi and bigoli al torcio, to more daring creations such as pasticcio, risotto and gourmet pizza, which will vary each evening. Vicentina-style cod and Venetian-style creamed cod will always be on the menu, but there will be dishes for all tastes, including options for vegetarians, celiacs, children and those who don't like fish. All dishes will be accompanied by local wines: the Vespaiolo Breganze Doc from Cantina Beato Bartolomeo and the Durello Doc Brut from Tenuta Natalina Grandi.

On the morning of Sunday 29 September the streets of Sandrigo will come alive with the Doge's Procession and the participation of flag-wavers, figures, drummers and the Dragon Knights. The Investiture Ceremony of the new Knights of Bacalà will follow at 10.00 in Central Square with the delivery of plaques to the new restaurants selected by the Brotherhood. The Brotherhoods from different regions of Italy, the Bacalà Clubs, the Norwegian authorities and the stockfish producers from the Island of Røst and the Nordland region will be present.
