CONSORZIO VALTÈNESI: SUCCESS FOR THE FIFTH EDITION OF THE HOUSE OF WINE GARDENS

The fifth edition of "I Giardini della Casa del Vino," held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Villa Galnica, Puegnago del Garda, concluded with great participation. The event, organized by the Consorzio Valtènesi, brought the gardens of the historic villa to life with an evening of music, artistic performances, and local flavors, offering the public the opportunity to taste over 80 wines from 44 wineries, served by ONAV Brescia tasters.

"These events are precious opportunities for us to showcase the region, meet enthusiasts and wine lovers, and explore our identity through our wines," says Paolo Pasini , president of the Valtènesi Consortium . "Valtènesi is a unique place. Its wines are creations of masterful craftsmanship, gracefully and harmoniously capturing the sophisticated Mediterranean soul of the Brescian Garda Riviera. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Sante Bonomo Award for the best Groppello-based red wine of the year to the Riviera del Garda Classico DOC Groppello from the FRANZOSI winery in Puegnago del Garda . The award, represented by a decanter inspired by the shape of Lake Garda, is the result of a selection process that began with the official Wine Competition, recognized by the Ministry and valid for the awards ceremony at the Polpenazze Wine Fair. A technical jury of winemakers identified the most deserving wines from the 2024 and 2023 vintages, selecting the labels that surpassed the 85/100 threshold. Subsequently, a second jury composed of journalists, technicians, and restaurateurs decreed the overall winner, who was announced during the evening with a toast together with the award-winning producer.

" The Sante Bonomo Award recognizes not only the quality of a wine that is a symbol of our region, but also the passion and dedication of those who produce it. Groppello, a native and distinctive grape variety of the Valtènesi, is the authentic expression of our history, our culture, and our agricultural vocation ," said Silvano Zanelli , Mayor of Puegnago del Garda. " A special tribute goes to the winemakers, true custodians of the land and its biodiversity: through their daily work, they ensure the continuity of a tradition that is both a cultural and economic asset for the community. As the municipal administration, we have believed and continue to believe in this heritage, committing ourselves to making Villa Galnica a place of meeting and storytelling, where all the wineries of the Valtènesi can express themselves and showcase their identities."

Following the success of I Giardini della Casa del Vino , Valtènesi will once again take center stage with Profumi di Mosto , scheduled for Sunday, October 5, 2025. This multi-day event will open the doors of 25 local wineries, offering tastings of three wines paired with three food samples. Participants can enjoy the experience independently or choose from three guided tours, each with a different focus on the different aspects of the appellation.
