Autumn is a hot season for Classese, the classic method Pinot Noir from Oltrepò Pavese, one of the stars of OltreGusto Oltrepò Terra di Pinot Nero, a consortium event that over the past few days has brought together 32 wineries, 1,400 participants, 16 Oltrepò restaurants, and 16 international Michelin-starred chefs in Voghera (PV), as well as dozens of Italian and international gastronomic delights.
Starting Monday, September 28th, three events will mark the Milanese calendar dedicated to sparkling blanc de noirs. It begins at the Rotonda della Besana Bistrot with a blind tasting experience: in the scenic setting of one of Milan's most iconic landmarks, you can taste four Classese wines, also paired with a selection of gourmet cocottes.
The program continues at the end of October (date to be confirmed) with a Masterclass aimed primarily at sommeliers and professionals, held in the prestigious spaces of Portrait Milano. This is an opportunity to delve deeper into the history and region that have represented the noir soul of Italian classic method winemaking since 1865.
On Tuesday, December 1st, at the Anima restaurant of multi-starred chef Enrico Bartolini, Classese will instead meet the creative cuisine of resident chef Michele Cobuzzi—who already starred in a cooking show last September 7th during OltreGusto—in a wine dinner capable of highlighting the particular gastronomic vocation of the classic method made from Oltrepò Pinot Noir.
Each evening will offer a broad overview of the region—thanks to a consortium display featuring dozens of labels—and will be hosted by Noemi Brambilla (on social media: Noellawines) and Consortium Director Riccardo Binda.
All details about the evenings and how to participate will be available on the Consortium's social media channels.
Classese, however, will also be the protagonist of three other important Milanese events in October: a masterclass with the Milan Polytechnic on Thursday 8th, the Milan Wine Week on the occasion of the Wine List (Monday
19) and Fermento Milano, Sunday 25th. Not to mention three out-of-town events: a walk-around tasting at the Enoteca Italiana in Bologna on September 29th, an exclusive evening at 67 Pall Mall in London on October 5th, and, in November, a tasting tour of Japan that will open with Slow Wine in Tokyo on Wednesday 11th.
