Description of the wine:
Sauvignon wine impress with their herbaceous and vegetable, fruity notes. They are enjoyed when young not to lose the aromatic characteristics typical of these wines.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Sauvignon wines have straw yellow color with greenish reflections, they have a strong, penetrating, persistent aroma, with notes of exotic fruits such as lychee and pineapple. In the mouth they have a strong character, typically acid and fresh.
Historical-cultural infos and curiosities:
The Sauvgnon varieties are of French origin and were imported in Friuli-Venezia Giulia during the rule of the Habsburgs. From Friuli, the production expanded in Trentino-Alto Adige, which now boasts many areas cultivated with international varieties.
Serving suggestions:
Excellent with soups and vegetable soups, excellent with asparagus and legumes. It is usually accompained by dishes of fish or as an aperitif accompanied also by light appetizers.
Production area:
In Italy it is mainly cultivated in Friuli-Venezia Giulia (territories of Collio) and South Tyrol.
