Nero d'Avola has a purple, ruby ​​red color, tending to garnet with aging. It has a characteristic, fruity, sometimes with notes of marasca cherry aroma. In the mouth it is soft, pleasantly sour, full.

Nero d'Avola was imported by the Greeks in Sicily. A famous legend tells that the Nero d'Avola wine was born from the tears of Dionysus.
