Italian Red Wine Montecucco rosso

Description of the wine: Tasting the Montecucco wines, intermediate notes are felt, with a Sangiovese often in the middle between the expression of Ilcinese Rosso and the more immediate Morellino: it is the ideal trait d'union between Tuscany's Chianti Classico and Montalcino and the Maremma. In Montecucco, thanks to very special soils, wines breathe deeply and in part reflect the influence of the sea. It is an atypical area in Maremma, as Sangiovese is often vinified in single-variety (in this resembling the neighboring Montalcino). Interesting white wines from Vermentino grapes and convincing and complex expressions of international grape varieties, such as Cabernet Franc and Syrah, are produced. Organoleptic characteristics: Its color is intense ruby red. Its aroma is large and vinous. In the mouth it is harmonious, dry and rightly tannic. Historical-cultural information and curiosities: Serving suggestions: Red meats, roasts, excellent with Pecorino cheese. Production area: Territories within the province of Grosseto in the municipalities of Cinigiano, Civitella Paganico, Campagnatico, Castel del Piano, Roccalbegna, Arcidosso and Seggiano. Grape varieties allowed for its production: Sangiovese (60-100%).
