Comes from the vineyard Il Poggio (5.5 Ha, 310 meters above sea level) in 1962 from which it took its name: it the first Chianti Classico Cru. Composed of 90% Sangiovese and 7% Caaniolo and 3% Colorino, aged for 20 months in French oak barrels. Today it is the most prestigious winery's product, appreciated all over the world. It is produced only in the best vintages. This wine the winery, by choice, keeps a considerable amount of wine bottles as a permanent reserve that can tell the story of the Castello di Monsanto.
