On 20 March in Rome, the Consortium for the Protection of DOC Cirò and Melissa wines , in collaboration with FIS, presents the second seminar of the review " Gaglioppo between identity and longevity ". The appointment is at the headquarters of the Foundation, at 20.00, and is run by Paolo Lauciani , internationally renowned professor of the Italian Sommelier Foundation , stable member of the editorial staff of the guide and of the Bibenda magazine and editor of many contributions for sector. The seminar is structured as a sensory journey which, through the tasting of eight references from selected wineries, leads the participants to discover the marked identity connotations that distinguish the Calabrian reds made from Gaglioppo grapes. A unique opportunity to discover great red wines, complex, structured, capable of aging acquiring unique and recognizable characteristics, such as tannins expertly tamed by oenologists. Furthermore, on the same day, a toast is made with a glass of Gaglioppo to the awarding of the Sommelier Diploma of the Italian Sommelier Foundation and the Diploma, recognized throughout the world, of the Worldwide Sommelier Association to FIS students who have passed the exams of the 72nd Course for Rome Sommelier . This appointment is part of a process that the Consorzio di Tutela Vini DOC Cirò e Melissa has undertaken to bring the wines of the denominations of this territory increasingly to the attention of the consumer public and with the insiders of the wine world. reaching multiple national and international markets. The Consortium will also be present at Vinitaly this year and also during the fair there will be opportunities and appointments to discover the wines of the Calabrian DOC. The Consortium will organize various masterclasses and seminars. In particular, on Sunday 2 April , there will be an event at the Teatro Stabile in Verona dedicated to the press and sector operators, which will see the wines of the Consortium's producers paired with the different flavors of Italian regional cuisine.
