Festa del Bacalà di Sandrigo: last weekend dedicated to taste

Sandrigo is preparing for the last weekend of the 34th edition of the Vicenza-style Bacalà Festival . Until Monday 20 it will be possible to taste in the stands set up in the central square of the town the classic dish of bacalà alla vicentina and numerous other gastronomic proposals, such as potato gnocchi or stuffed mezzelune. The traditional risotto with bacalà will once again be the protagonist of the last evening of the event this year. After the forced break last year, on Sunday 19 September at 10.30 in Piazza Garibaldi the traditional investiture of the new Knights of the Bacalà Confraternity will take place. The ceremony will be attended by a delegation of inhabitants of Røst, the Norwegian island twinned with Sandrigo on which Pietro Querini was shipwrecked in 1432. Will continue until the end of October, the Weekend full of codfish, with walks, bike tours and kayak tours along the Astico, to discover the flora and fauna. Visits to villas, oratories and villages will alternate with food and wine experiences in the restaurants and wineries that are partner of the initiative.
